Information about the NET
The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) was developed by Educational Resources, Inc. (ERI) to assist schools of nursing in the guidance and placement of applicants seeking to become nurses.
The NET assesses (1) basic science reading comprehension, (2) essential math skills and (3) written expression (grammar). Most questions on this entrance test deal with subjects studied in school, while other questions are concerned with application of knowledge in everyday living. To ensure that questions are not discriminatory with respect to race, ethnicity, linguistic background, or gender, persons not involved with the test development process have reviewed the questions.
The NET has three important sections that generate your final NET Score: a science reading section, a math section, and a written expression section. |
|
Science Reading Comprehension
The science reading section will evaluate reading skills you have developed in and out of school. It evaluates your science reading comprehension through various topics, followed by multiple-choice questions about what you have read.
Math Skills
The majority of math items require you to calculate decimals, fractions, conversions, and ratios. Some math items involve percentages and very basic algebra. These math test items have multiple-choice answers.
Written Expression
The written expression section assesses grammar, capitalization, spelling skills and the ability to organize your ideas in a written format. These test items are also presented in a multiple-choice format.

Cancelling or Rescheduling Your NET Test Date
Once you have registered to take the NET with ERI and scheduled your test with Pearson VUE, you must notify Pearson Call Center within one business day prior to your scheduled test date if you need to reschedule your test time. If you miss your scheduled testing appointment and have not called Pearson VUE to reschedule, you will forfeit the registration fee. You will have to register again with ERI and THEN reschedule the test time with Pearson VUE.
Testing Refund Fee
No refund will be issued for any service associated with the Nurse Entrance Test of Educational Resources, Inc., under any circumstances. If you miss your scheduled test time, you may reschedule for the test by calling ERI or you may register online. You will be required to complete another registration and pay the applicable fees.
Special Testing Situations
If a physical handicap or learning disability prevents you from taking the Nurse Entrance Test under standard conditions, you may request a special testing environment. You must inform ERI of this request at least eight weeks prior to your test date to receive these special arrangements.
Call ERI's Customer Service Center at (800) 299-EXAM to make these arrangements. A statement from a medical doctor or a school psychologist, as appropriate, attesting to the special need and a short letter specifying the desired testing conditions must be sent to ERI. ANY VARIATION IN ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING.
You must register for the NET test through Educational Resources online or call(800) 299-EXAM
and then call Pearson VUE to schedule a time to take the test. |
