Reach for an A

The "Reach for an A" - Study Skills Testtaking Workshop is a 2 hour online streaming video presentation that is designed to meet the needs of high school and entry-level college students. The program is also highly beneficial to non-traditional and foreign educated students. It serves as an individual or group-oriented presentation. The “Reach for an A” course manual may be reproduced as needed.

Part I - Objective Testtaking skills (60 minutes) - Teaches the student how to effectively approach multiple-choice, true/false, matching and standardized examinations. A special section advises students regarding group study and other methods of test preparation.

Part II - Notetaking (30 minutes) - Develops an effective and efficient strategy for notetaking in the lecture situation. This organized format facilitates study and review prior to testing.

Part III - Textbook Annotation (30 minutes) – Improves reading comprehension and preparation for tests though specific reading techniques for the physical sciences, social sciences, history, etc. Efficiency in reading textbook chapters is a primary focus.
