What is the CAT?
Computer Adaptive Testing (PN CAT) evaluates the degree of aptitude for each test participant. Each individual exam is in line with the blueprint of the licensure exam. The Rasch model, along with the maximum likelihood estimate of ability, is used to evaluate the knowledge level of the individual and his/her ability to perform as an entry level nurse.
- Provides Diagnostic Information
- Nursing Behavior Scores
- Client Needs Scores
Benefits of the PN CAT
Simulation of licensure exam gives each nurse the practice needed to become familiar with boards. The PN CAT has a large item bank of over 1000 questions. All test questions are categorized by both nursing process and client needs to provide a complete evaluation of nursing abilities. The test also indicates specific strengths and weaknesses for general curriculum development.
